Rainy lazy Sunday

Yesterday, it was fabulous weather, the right weather for a last summer hurray! Today, it is rainy and a taste of the seasons to come. A Sunday to cook a fabulous, elaborate short rib chili and introduce a new family member to the home: my first Staub dutch oven. Yes, the pots are also family members. I found a great deal at Rooster Brothers, the kitchen/gourmet store in Ellsworth, a put for $99 instead of almost $200 as its usual price (There are similar good deals out on the web right now!) On the side of this? Tuning in to a “The Hills” marathon. Sometimes I think watching reality tv is about on the level of using store-bought vinaigrette: an non-excusable sin.
