Vacation included the second hike this year. Being back in a running mode definitely helps with hiking: not even breaking a sweat and no grumbling doubts of “how long will this still take?”. It was a new-to-me hike, the Maiden Cliff hike close to Camden, ME and the beautiful Megunticook lake. This area really offers it all: the ocean, a great lake for kajaking and swimming, plenty of hiking trails with breathtaking views, excellent restaurants, luxury accommodations as well as rustic cabins or houses on the lake for rental, wineries and James Beard nominated eats. No wonder it is such a prime Maine destination in the summer.
The hike was just about 1h, up, obligatory photos and back, and then it was time for some eats in Camden. This time I kept it simple (sweaty workout clothes don’t go well with upscale eateries…)
